Community Relations & Marketing Coordinator – Geriatric Expertise

Job Description:

** Serves as a Community Relations Outreach Representative to further enhance and to promote the organization’s geropsych internal and external services. This position serves as the primary liaison between our hospital and the geriatric community. Must be able to “cold call,” generate referral leads, set appointments and be able to thoroughly explain hospital’s services and market differentiators.

** Assists in identifying and evaluating special studies for the development of new services and programs in the geropsych field.

** Assists in planning, organizing and conducting various internal and external activities for department such as facility tours, health fairs, open houses, networking events, etc.

Education/Experience:

** Must have a full understanding of the geriatric community, especially within the west valley area. Existing contacts within the gero field is required. Existing contacts for geropsych services is a big plus.

** Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field or five years relative experience.

** Three years in healthcare marketing and/or community relations in geriatrics and/or behavioral health.

** Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Must be comfortable with and skilled in public speaking.

** Ability to take initiative, problem solve and follow through appropriately.

** Organized and able to manage time efficiently.

This position will be primarily home based with the majority of contacts in the far west valley. Close proximity in this area is a bonus. Reliable transportation is also required.

Aurora Behavioral Health System, the state’s largest free-standing psychiatric hospital system, is looking for a dynamic, energetic, highly ethical Community Relations & Marketing Coordinator to help grow and further develop our relationships within the state’s hospital community. This person will primarily be responsible for outreach to medical hospitals around the state with a heavy emphasis in Maricopa County. Existing relationships within med/surg hospitals and/or experience in marketing to hospitals is required.

Job Description:

** Serves as a Community Relations Outreach Representative to further enhance and to promote the organization’s internal and external services. This position serves as the primary liaison for our facility with external hospital teams to include ER nurses and MDs, social workers and administration. Must be able to “cold call,” generate referral leads, set appointments and be able to thoroughly explain hospital’s services and market differentiators.

** Assists in identifying and evaluating special studies for the development of new services and programs.

** Assists in planning, organizing and conducting various internal and external activities for department such as facility tours, health fairs, open houses, networking events, educational seminars onsite and at external locales, etc.

Education/Experience:

** Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field or five years relative experience.

** Three years in healthcare marketing and/or community relations, preferably marketing directly to hospitals.

** Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Must be comfortable with and skilled in public speaking.

** Ability to take initiative, problem solve and follow through appropriately.

** Organized and able to manage time efficiently.

This position will be primarily home based and will be serving both of our hospitals. The person can be located anywhere within the Phoenix area, but must have reliable transportation.
